Taxation in Poland

Polish tax system designed for all persons living here, as well as those who conduct economic activities on its territory for the purpose of economic gain. The most common legal form of business is the Limited Liability Company (LLC).

Those registered in the state are residents whose income is fully taxed. Anyone who is not registered, but receives income from activities carried out in the country, is required to pay taxes that are levied only on this income.

  1. Income tax.

Corporate tax for legal entities is 19%. They are taxed on profits minus certain benefits. This tax is imposed on start-up companies and organizations with an annual income of less than 1,2 million Euros.

  1. VAT.

The basic value added tax rate is 23%. At the same time, reduced rates apply to some types of activities and goods:

  • 8% for hotel services, medicines, transportation, medical equipment;
  • 5% on groceries;
  • 0% - that is, educational and a number of medical services are exempt from VAT.
  1. Excise duty.

About 200 types of products are subject to excise taxes in the state. These include fuel products, cars, alcoholic beverages, tobacco and much more.
